Double Cut - NONONONONONO it just looks wrong. For the uninitiated, which one is that? It's all to do with the number of "cuts" taken out of the guitar's shoulders. Double CutSingle Cut

I see - thank you.
Is that being cut-ist?

Believe it or not John, I 'discovered' him via the interest in Eddie Van Halen after his passing. I mentioned him in the Obituaries thread but misspelt his name. DOH!

Talking of Mr Bonamassa... I've actually got the album this comes from, but I'd never seen this footage until a couple of days ago. The album is "Re-Machined," a tribute to Deep Purple's Machine Head by various artists. These guys are really having fun, which, for me, doubles the pleasure I derive from it.
Bass – Michael Rhodes
Drums – Anton Fig
Guitar – Brad Whitford, Joe Bonamassa
Organ – Arlan Schierbaum
Vocals – Jimmy Barnes

Technically, excellent, it just doesn't "move" me for some reason, John.

Check out other stuff as this is quite jazzy but he can do the same with metal or anything he wants

A 7-string with fanned frets? He's lost me already. I've got a Schecter Omen 7-string, but those frets just look wrong to me. It was an enjoyable watch though, John, and he's quite good, isn't he?

I would be totally lost on the guitar he has. I am not even sure how it is tuned. Yes his playing is so in the pocket and just makes it looks effortless but nothing effortless about it. Years of hard practice understanding music theory and a great ear to apply it.

Apparently the idea with fanned fret / multiscale guitars is to make the scale-length longer the deeper the string; that's why you find it on 7 or 8-string guitars. If you tuned down a "normal" string on a normal scale length to, say, F# (which is the bottom string on an 8-string guitar) it wouild just be a floppy mess, so a longer scale-length allows for more string tension the further down you go.

Was always looking for this on his albums, until realized it wasn't on any. Was to be found on the Road House film soundtrack. Got the single shown recently:
