The most important grocery delivery of the year for me is December 27th this year. Why? Because it entails a Christmas present to myself. I've just finalised the order for smoked salmon, prawns, crab, various "continental" meats, potato salad, coleslaw, and a mixture of salad bits and bobs. That adds up to an entire week of (almost) no cooking and just chucking delicious stuff on a plate whenever I feel like it. My "present" also includes two packs of Sainsbury's Garlic Stuffed Halkidiki Olives and a jar of Haywards Hot & Spicy Pickled Onions. Hey, when you're sleeping alone it doesn't matter. I did cheat, and order a couple of pizzas just in case the desire for hot food overtakes me -- a Chargrilled Veg, and a Salami, Prosciutto & Chorizo to be precise. Prep time zero, cooking time about 15 minutes. Actually, there will be one spot of cooking, other than the pizza, which will involve what's left of the turkey, loads of veg, and a slow cooker. That won't be exactly taxing my culinary skills to their limits either. If I can't go out, I shall make staying in as pleasant as possible. Not that I'd be going far anyway.

The average Brit will pile on over 2kgs during Christmas alone! WTF! Spare a thought for the hungry ones!
That said, roast Christian mmm, "get em' while they're hot, they're lovely" 😀

Leftover turkey, ham and Xmas pud should keep us going for a few days. Not to mention Tunis cake and mince pies. Yup, 2kg sounds about right.
