The only thing I can think of now are perhaps some Le Cleach profile horns in the upper mid Vitavox S2 channel. 500Hz might fit in the space. 550Hz def would. Many rave about the room integration of the very wrapped around mouth of this profile. It's pretty similar to Tractrix at the throat. They would be too big a diameter for me to turn on my lathe. Must try and borrow or trial a pair.

My plans are to keep putting one foot in front of the other, and following each breath with another, for as long as I'm allowed to.

My final target this year is to have Tony at Coherent breath on my Mutec MC-3+ USB by removing the built-in SMPS (no longer used, it gets its power from a QP-1) and replace some other strategic components to improve its performance. Since the LKS is performing even better than before, it makes sense to give attention to the component directly feeding it. I dropped off my Mutec at Tony's today and have a loan one. It's interesting going back to a mains powered Mutec rather than from the QP-1 PSU. Good to have music while I'm waiting, though. I've decided to go one more level with the LKS DAC mods: polystyrene caps for bypassing the I/V resistors, and polypropylene caps for the filter stage. Both of these cap choices for going with smoothness in the midrange (I already have incredible resolution). Parts ordered from Mouser.
