There's a Frank Zappa song called 'Little Rubber Girl' but I think the context may be different to this.

I saw one, and then the other, and now that's the only one I see unless I deliberately "look" for the one I saw first.

This has always fascinated me. There's an incredible, and incredibly funny, book called 'The Language Instinct' by Stephen Pinker. Fan of it.
In Boston we drop the "R" but only if it's at the end of the word. Like Alex Scott dropping "G" when speakin, or talkin ye?
Maybe it's obvious it can only be dropped at the end of the word or there'd be no way to speak.
Imo it's all done to allow for rhythm. Or if not rhythm, then for speed, and all that for efficiency. Though in a portion of this article I know that elocution was the matter not efficiency of speaking.
Another thing pointed to by this article was what we have here in the states. Wood, food, dude, good, would.
I've had to tell people learning English a few times, good luck, we break all of our own rules.
Any chance anyone could tell me if this a passable British accent that is consistent to one region? Or is it junk and also just mixes different types of British accents. I've died laughing at this many times now. Some of my favorite guys here though, top blokes.

Albie Donnelly is the leader of, and sax player with, Supercharge for those who remember them. (They're actually still performing).

George supported those left behind to take the Brunt of the bombings? Those rich that left should have been exposed when trying to throw their weight around when they returned.
George fought a fight with the ones left behind at a critical hour.
Couldn't find a thread for this. I almost can't believe that religious and non religious people occupy the same planet. I can, knowing that religion has been passed down from adult to impressionable child through programming for thousands of years. Otherwise it could never survive any type of scrutiny, is my guess.
But watching people bicker about it in comments sections looks so futile and endless with nothing gained on either side.

I agree, it doesn't survive any kind of scrutiny. Nothing much to say except that it seems to require a lifetime of suspension of disbelief and a complete lack of objectivity and observation.

I know a couple, they've been trying to convert me since 2012. I've been to tons of gatherings and church events. I'm further away now from believing than at the start.
What bothers me is they'll have children one day and they will get to work on those little minds before those minds have a chance to think for themselves. That's the trick.
Don't try to better understand our surroundings or be a team player by adding to humanity's knowledge.
Just memorize this book and recite these lines, to save yourself. Don't concern yourself with this life, its just a test. Go through these motions and you'll get an even better life after.
Sounds like pure genius. It's like getting a cake on your birthday and asking about a second cake with your mouth full.

Churchill was asked how he intended to win World War 2 after the fall of France. He told of two frogs.
Two frogs jumped into a pail of milk. They soon realised they couldn’t climb out. One frog seeing no way out, gave up and drowned. The other frog kept swimming and paddling through the night. In the morning the milk had churned to butter and the frog climbed out.
Churchill could not see an immediate way out but he did not intend to surrender.
- worth a thought or two. I have also worked out recently that problems can be solved and in a while I will know how to fix them, workaround or live with them.
Fear is the mind killer

1000%. The present set of conditions show no chance for success. And you can't see a solution.
Don't give up, wait it out because the conditions may change and if they do you may very well find that what you need for success.

Fear is the mind killer Of course, that wouldn't actually have worked out so well in France. Almost anywhere else in the world, fine, but in France they would just have lobbed in some garlic and cooked the frog's legs.
