The M25 will only be reopened at 06:00 on Monday. Being as that's the time I'm going past it on the M3, I'm considering working from home.

Is Paul on vacation? He better not be I haven't taken a vacation in 2 years except for a sinus surgery. That's not fair.
If he's reading this I meant a different Paul. Relax.

Let's not let The Audio Standard turn into An Audio Standard.
Can everyone here post a song in the Just One Track section today?

Nothing serious, just a lot of little things all at once. I have done plenty of reading though. My last holiday was quite a while before my wife died, and that'll be 7 years ago this year, so easily more than 10 years ago.

Rechargeable batteries. Where do they all go?
Yesterday I was raging that I had to "borrow" two from one remote put them in another - I've bought masses of them in the past. My flat is a ginormous black hole for batteries! Just ridiculous that I cannot work out where they have all gone.
I buy them for ecological, not money saving reasons - the amount I have spent on them could even be higher than buying standard batteries.

We have a big drawer of batteries of all sizes. With all the battery operated devices we have, they get used remarkably quickly. Too many 9V smoke alarm ones, for sure, and the multitude of small CR types.

I store mine together, well almost all as I occasionally find a stray from pre one store time
The battery tester I have is useful for checking charge although some batteries show ok, 50-75% charge but don't drive the device.
Oh, I lie I keep the CRs for the kitchen scales in the kitchen, the CRs for the bathroom scales in the bedroom next door

A voltmeter is almost useless for testing battery life unless you put it under load, as you've found out.
