I been chasing a Larry Carlton type overdrive for a while and I also wanted to experiment with a Line 6 Helix LT multi effects processor just to see how good they are.
My first pedal to try was the Joyo Tai Chi pedal, a nice enough pedal but not what I am looking for a bit lacking body for my ears
Next up is the NUX Steel Singer
A lovely soft overdrive with lots of body and natural sustain that enhances the natural tone of the Fender. This is staying in my system
Next up is the Line 6 Helix LT I been eager to try one of these out for some time took a bit of time to figure it out Lots of effects and a bit to much overload of effect parameters for me I am not convinced with the tone as it changes the great tone I have on the Fender and for me this is a backward step. Not for me

Has anyone ever tried sticking a pedal like this in between their pre and power amps?!

I'm a big Line 6 fan. Amongst other bits and pieces of theirs I've got a Spider V 60w amp with more fx than you can shake a stick at, plus I use an Amplifi TT, with more fx than... etc. to interface with my studio software.

Ouch that is not going to sound good I could use the Helix digital out and go through my HIFI system I love Plini sound. he uses software and with his archetype plugin and sounds natural which I could put through the system with the right interface and should sound good but its all a bit technical for me

Happy with the Slinger adds to the tone Not tries to radically change it

Happy with the Slinger adds to the tone Not tries to radically change it I'm glad you're "happy with the Slinger," John. That means a lot to me.
