As the rich audiophiles thread seems to be drifting into this territory, I thought I'd make a separate thread.
For me, it would be a nice bungalow with a dedicated A/V room that doubles as a recording studio.

A villa in Andalucia , max 400k , buy son a house and payoff daughter's mortgage and maybe upgrade her , 200k each , new Audi A3 for wife , the rest pocket money . If I have to spend it all then I'd change my E-Class into Porsche Macan , think that be about £1m total .
Thanks Paul , when should I expect it .

A nice small villa somewhere quiet and warm with a view, with a dedicated listening room if possible, enough money left over for us to live simply and comfortably. Not bothered about cars, been there and done that, as long as it goes and is comfortable that is fine. Might change some hifi stuff but in a very limited and controlled way, the first sentence comes first!

... Thanks Paul , when should I expect it . Would you believe me if I told you the cheque was in the post?

Rather boringly, I would put it towards a bigger house in our current (outrageously expensive) neighbourhood.

Unlikely I'd have any left from the boss grabbing it first but if I could big improvements to the house, a new and very nice bike, £5-10k budget, some hifi improvements, those TAD monos look interesting, I'm sure Tony could help spend some of it

Eeek I can't add up , I've only spent £900k , so home improvements to the current house that would allow me to have bigger speakers , which would mean a bigger amp and a nice new T/T with a high end cart.

A nice house somewhere north and remote, with a great music room.
Speedboat on a trailer and something to tow it.

Only a million?
I need more than that to lift me above poverty;)
I'd gamble £500K in alt coins and keep £500K in the bank for emergencies / the possible failure of the alt coin plan.

It's just beer money for Justin!
Me? I dunno. Would need a bigger room to do better hifi justice - that's where the biggest dollop would go. Then MBL 101E speakers maybe.
Would also like a separate listening room for a pair of hOrns Universum. Very taken with those at a Show a few years back. Even better at small scale music than my MBLs, not really up to big orchestral, though.
Don't really want to move house, though - current place is a wonderful location for us. So that rather limits things.

Give it to Gary Lineker.
Probably needs it more than me.

So that rather limits things. A million would still go down very nicely, thanks Jerry;) If you go and see Mark at Malvern Audio Research he has a large room with Universums in. They will cast a pretty large soundstage and play at good volume in there. For sure they sound larger than your MBLs without a shadow of a doubt and I think they will reset your opinion of being able to do large scale orchestra. They have been through a few iterations since you last heard them. However in your room I think they wouldn't work where you have your MBLs. They might work on the short wall but sound stage would be narrow. Best off sticking with your MBLs but a few hours at Mark's you'd love. Still worried about Corona? Watch this.
