The bass drivers facing-off looks like another variant of the original KEF idea.

I've come across this new Mercury streamer made in the US. Very informative website and seems to be offering decent VFM at $599. Full range of outputs inc I2S and AES. Shame the front panel looks so pedestrian but if it sounds great shouldn’t be a dealbreaker … www.pi2design.com/mercury-streamer.html |

Pedestrian is being kind to it. You could pay an art student a couple of hours' work and get a nice design and a logo out of it. I never understand why basic marketing comes as an afterthought.

Another review with no listening impressions whatsoever?
This is interesting: "I have to admit that your testing of the actual noise on the various ports did not seem very useful to me".
Goldensound is the same guy who 'reviewed' the Gustard U18 and found its measurements not that impressive. Shame he didn't take the time to listen to the bloody thing, then.
If there's one thing I've discovered over the last few years, is that there is precious little correlation between measurements and audio quality.

Lucky to have speakers at all for such a pittance - they should all get second jobs.
