The new Volumio Rivo streaming transport should be available soon. Somewhere round 1000 euros.
Has SPDIF and AES out but no I2S.

Surprised no interest in this release.

Pretty decent spec and streaming service support. For €1000 it could be a good value purchase, especially with AES and USB outputs.

...and video capability? Maybe its trying to be too much of a on-stop-shop? I wonder what's inside it, have they repurposed a Pi, or a Tinkerboard? Can it be hacked to turn the video stuff off, like I do on the Pi? In fact, is the OS hackable at all? So far, there's not enough of what I'd call "real world" info. Not that it's any use to me anyway. I hate that ugly orange blob too. No, not Trump, that " thing" in the middle of the fascia.

Exactly what I was thinking - is it just a tricked out pi like the Allo streamers or is there some decent research and proprietary tech gone into it?

I guess the video output is to show the interface on a large screen?

Another interesting streaming transport is the Silent Angel Munich M1T. Full spec here - www.silent-angel-audio.com/munich-m1tThis one I have heard in action and I have to say the results were superb, but as it was a friend's demo session, it was using gear unfamiliar to me. I would certainly like to hear it again.

I love this new tech from Adidas of all people. Solar charging headphones - hope other manufacturers follow suit with this, which can be a small but worthwhile contribution to energy efficiency. www.adidasheadphones.com/gb/en/1006145.html

The proof of the pudding is in the eating of course, or in this case, the listening. It'll be interesting to read some more critical reviews than those posted on the site.

Of course but even if pants sounding hopefully the solar could start a trend ...

It certainly looks attractive to me. I will never know the quality of sound it produces.

Me neither!
But am still interested to see what new high end gear is released, as often the tech will trickle down to more affordable products.

I’ve never had an iFi product that I liked and kept but this one does intrigue me.
It’s a DAC / headphone amp that will connect to your source via Bluetooth which is well specced - 5.1 with aptX HD and LDAC.It has a wired connection for your cans.
I do love the knurled watch crown-style control, and it’s tiny, weighing just 26g!!

Curiously I'm not seduced by ifi products at all, and I know Vince well. However Salma Hayek slowly moving one of those devices between her upper body parts, could prove a winner for ifi

Think that might prove a winner for most of us
