Hello all!
I'm Sam and normally a lurker - into all sorts of music, from new electronica to americana to jazz fusion, sound tracks and a little bit of classical!
I'm normaly an ebay/secondhand gear purchaser, never having bought any gear new ever.. but might break that with the latest Beresford DAC.
To be honest I'm not really a talker of audio stuff - the internet already sucks away at my spare time - but will be likely posting here and there.

Thanks for the welcomes!
The Beresford would be mainly for playing from my PC or laptop as I'm currently using a random bare bones DAC - the type you find lots of on ebay - which sits precariously on a stone coaster with double sided tape to stop the interconnects pulling it onto the floor! It works well with USB input but I'm sure I would do much much better with the Beresford Cayman plus the higher resolutions I'd love to hear. It would also improve the CD playback too I'm sure.
My system is fairly modest at the moment with a Pioneer A400 integrated with a pretty, fake stone Kenwood 2055 turntable, a "pro" Cd player; Marantz PMD320 and some odd B&W speakers from the 90s; CM1s (part of the 1990s CM2 towers). I think for the outlay (a tad over £200 bought bit by bit) it's quite a good system - just lacking some bass due to the small speakers!

If you going for the Caiman and using USB you need to get a good converter as the USB is not the Caiman at its best. Its a fantastic DAC from SPDIF and would take a lot of money to beat. I know Stan sells a converter or consider something like the Cunas if you only going to use USB. If using different outputs USB and SPDIF then I still go for the Caiman but with a decent converter
