When it comes to Headphones I am extremely fussy I have never really settled on a pair headphones I like.
At present I have less opportunity to listen to my system and missing listening to music, so I got a pair of second-hand Nuraphones with new pads and if I do not like I can always move on without to much issue. I am interested will the technology work can I wear them longer than 1 hour without discomfort and how weird will the tips feel.
I have tried the following HD650 and 600 with the 600 I had them weird with Cardas cables that was a nice step up. The most holographic sound I ever heard but not enough bass.
I also had the Grado SR80 and 60 But could not live with them.
I had the AKG701 they did not have the holographic sense of the HD600 but bass was better However I was not inspired to keep.
I still have some headphones that I got off Jerry nicely balanced but still missing scale for me and some Senns that I rarely use but nice and comfortable but perhaps just a touch vague .
I had some highly rated Monoprice 1060 that I thought were awful Did not create music for me it had all the mods as well but very happy to get rid of them.

Do you actually have them?
Buying a pair secondhand isn't as straightforward as you might imagine. They can be locked to an account and if you don't have the previous owner's password, your set gets shut down when you're asked to update or log on, and they're useless. The manufacturer won't activate them. People buying them off eBay have been stung like this. I don't think they actually "belong" to the buyer; you effectively lease them, and as such, don't really have the right to sell them on. At least that was the case, when I last ferreted about.

Well I got the headphones today They are a bit heavy but not excessive. Comfort is okay. I had a lot worse. I thought they would actually be a lot worse as I am quite fussy about this. The set up was a bit slow it took awhile to get the right fit in order to do my profile. Their is quite a big difference between my profile and them set up as neutral. To the point that you wonder if they are set as vague in neutral. I do not like the immersive experience at all, just colours the sound for me.
They are not quite as holographic as the HD600 but from memory I prefer the Neuraphones as the bass is better. O guess the biggest suprise that Blurtooth can sound better than I could expect. Will I keep them I am not sure. But if I want to they are easy to set to factory settings

Quite a few vids on YouTube. In one the owner says his personalized setting varied somewhat each time he created his profile and the best sound he got was with his brother's profile setting. Interested when they came out, but lost it over time.

The 'personalised sound' thing - isn't this just a way of marketing a clever graphic equaliser or am I missing something?

It supposes to profile your hearing and then set to suit your own preferences, They send sounds that in theory your ear reacts to and then adjust. I could certainly believe that you can get different results each time as they are very fussy about fit.

I guess the biggest suprise that Bluetooth can sound better than I could expect. Not related to Neurophones, but I've been amazed how good Bluetooth can sound! I must admit I'd like to hear some Neurophones, I've almost bought one of the many pairs that have come along on ebay but never quite done it. Yet! I did have some 'self correcting' headphones made by Even, but found the applied correction was very small. (Even has a system of 8 tones of different frequency for each ear that you click on once they become loud enough to hear, the headphones then apply the required frequency response changes to normalise the sound. They are not bad but hardly world beaters would be my take on them I will keep for a week but cannot see myself keeping them

Was glad to find a thread for this. Not sure what to make of these.
I had a friend who was always getting some new high to mid-fi headphones and taking artistic fancy pictures of them. Then he got the Nuraphones and said they beat everything else he has even his Audezes.
I trust the guy but am still skeptical because they began retailing at $400 and are found used online these days for as little as $80.
Funny reactions from people to these though.

I personally didn't get on with them. I don't think the sound profiling works. They feel funny on the head. Was impossible for me to use them more than 30 mins so comfort not great either.

That's what I was expecting. As much as my friend gushed about them I don't think I could even get past the idea that those little nodules are sticking into your inner ear.
Seems like the opposite of comfort.

The modules feel weird. Its the heat of them which really got to me.
I am really fussy about headphones for me they have to pass the following criteria
Sound natural. The amount of headphones that have something strange going on in the frequency response range is frustrating.
Comfort for longer term listening finding headphones where I just want to keep listening to music is rare
