Did a wee deal and ended up with a NAD C320 a pair of Tannoys and a Mordaunt Short amp today. Got them all for £20 so that was good. Bit of a hard life had been had I think so the NAD got opened up and cleaned inside. Cotton buds, contact cleaner etc etc... was a bit rough at first but after a couple of hours it’s come on song just lovely!
Got it hooked up to a pair of Ditton 33s that cost me £30 and the sound I’m enjoying just now is superb! Simply remarkable for £40.
The other amp.. well.. thought let’s do the same...opened it up and there’s burnt bits and bits cracked etc etc... Shame. Rare amp built like a tank but rubbish allegedly! Bit unstable so dangerous to speakers at times. Faffed about with it a bit but no,too much for me so away it went for £10.
Good day

Ha! You posted the pic while I was typing and trying to remember whether it was 500 or 5000.

Yeah it was the 5000 mate - a Tim ParaVicini design put together by Musical Fidelity. Like I say though,it was rubbish and a flop for them 🤣

They didn't make many of them - there was a poor review of it at the time and I think that killed it stone dead. The few who did buy them got bitten in the bum by the reliability problem. I remember thinking it might be a little overpriced and the aesthetics were a bit Marmite, too. Not much going for it really!
