Seen a pair for £60. I'm only really interested as I don't have floorstanders. Are they any good?

All the Rega speakers have a 'house ' sound Chris . I use the predecessor to the Elas ( EL8s ) and they're excellent . I've also heard the RS3s many times and they're also also very good indeed . Excellent VFM at that price IMHO. Also Paul at Reference Fidelity Components does an excellent job in refurbishing the crossovers to a very high standard .

I got mine done a couple of years ago Chris and it also depends upon the quality of the new parts . I really wouldn't want to try and do Pauls job for him mate . I would suggest that you contact him at Reference Fidelity Components for a price . Paul is a total gentleman and once he has given you a quote he will leave you alone until you get back to him . No pressure . Worth every penny in my honest opinion . I f you want a listen to mine drop me a PM Chris .

Brian, can I suggest you send Chris a PM mate? I think he just wants a rough idea of what it might cost in order to decide whether or not to buy the speakers - they might be gone by the time he's finished talking to Paul. So just telling him what you paid will be much more useful than not knowing and having to guess!

For 50 quid you can't go wrong. If you don't like them you will recuperate your money when you sell them on. They have sufficient fans to ensure a quick sale.

Yeah DQ I was kind of thinking that - however the guy is willing to deliver them and that's where it might go wrong. A bloke turning up with MORE speakers!! I've only 2 pairs but justifying them might be tricky.....

Love 'em.
Owned the original Mk1 fully fluted ELA's.
Great fun, musical and bouncy. Wickedly fast, tight and tuneful Bass. Great imaging.
Bit of a no brainer at that price I think.
