13 Assassins, Eiichi Kudo 1963 Vs Takashi Miika 2011. For me the updated cinematography of the later.

Did you see the Mark Gatiss/Stephen Moffat TV series from earlier this year, with Claes Bang as Count Dracula? On the off-chance that you did miss it, I'll not give any spoilers, but it's a completely new and different retelling of the Dracula story. I've got a huge amount of respect for Mark Gatiss in all things horror, he's very knowledgeable about the whole genre. His 3-part "A History of Horror with Mark Gatiss," has dropped off of iPlayer, but it's still on YouTube, and it's essential watching for horror fans (like me). Along with Stephen Moffat, of course, Gatiss is also responsible for Sherlock, a few Poirots, and some decent Dr Who episodes too, among other things. Sorry. Rambling now.

Post your examples and preference. whilst I still enjoy the Film Noir origional De Nero's performance takes it over Robert Mitchams. I can appreciate how some would choose De Nero's version. Personally, though, I'd go for the original. Same here: Not a patch on the original.

The Wicker Man. Another re-make failure, to my mind. Perhaps it's just me living in the past. Then again, I do prefer Patrick Stewart's A Christmas Carol, which displaced Alister's Sim's version.
