Seagulls? I always assumed it to be whalesong. Plugging the pedal in back-to-front was a complete accident apparently, and they just embraced it.

Wow, it looked great on paper but then testing it out revealed countless unforeseen problems.

That machine was an incredible achievement.
The story of how the giant new, but unstable, rocket engines were improved for reliability alone is amazing.

But only made possible by way of Operation Paperclip and the Nazis scientists the US scooped from Germany at the end of WW2, before the Russians got them, although they did get some. Never got told that in History at school.

I was thinking of the specific problem with the F1 engine and how it was solved.

Ask an American any question. But if possible try to stick to "What is your name?".
If you really have to venture off the beaten path then ask "How old are you?". After that it can get dicey.

I'm not a fan of AI and ChatGPT as I think I may have mentioned, I think it's quite possibly the worst mistake we've made since Oppenheimer by making it open to all on the internet and there is a catastrophe coming, if we don't stop or control it right now. A lot of geeks and nerds think the same way and the people I've talked to about it think I'm a bit of a drama queen and slightly off my head - this guy (Mo Gawdat) isn't a drama queen and I think has the credentials to support his views and why we should be very concerned. It absolutely scares the bejeezers out of me as we will abuse it and we will pay a heavy price IMO, if we just keep going on as we are.
If you don't have time for the full 2 hour talk, which I urge you to try and make time for, there is a shorter 20 minute edit. If you're really short of time, watch the second one from 16m to the end.

There are loads of those knocking around on YouTube, the most "popular" examples feature Americans being ignorant about geography, which is a favourite trope. I get the feeling that with a large enough sample, and some clever editing, one could stage the same thing in many countries. Not England, ovbiously, but loads of other countries.
