Currently on iPlayer. I expected a lot more but the documentary flow is very poor. There's too much about him as a young boy - with respect, I don't really care about that stuff. During his formative music years, I found the timelines jumbled with unnecessary flashbacks. There are too few date milestones, it's not really clear who his key musical influences are and there are almost no mentions of his albums to synchronise the timelines and albums together. Lots of static photos, which I do understand if there is no footage, but then video is used with a different audio track, which is just confusing. I don't really find myself warming to the guy. The two hours' running time is wasted. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0b95q4f/eric-clapton-life-in-12-bars

Must have seen that when it first came out. Found it ok. Could have been a lot better

I was going to record it, and then remembered I'd seen it, and pretty much agree with what you said, Martin.

Also a lot of images of drug taking and him looking off his t--s, was it really needed, just a thought.

Agreed. I didn't want to feel like his counsellor and all the drug and alcohol abuse admissions were simply too much. I wanted to hear more about the music.

What I'd enjoy would be a series with Clapton narrating, and demonstrating, a history of the blues.
