Took delivery of Wharfedale Linton Heritage speakers and dedicated stands. I shall write as I see it. The finish on the speakers is stunning real professional work in a lovely Walnut Veneer. Its the sort of finish you expect from super expensive makes.Stands are stands but well made all the same with nice Walnut Veneer on them as well . So the finish is beautiful and cannot fault it. Ok the sound, not my forte writing things like so i will try. Bass is proper trouser flapping, nice and tight not flabby or all over the place and proper bass drum kick. The mids are something else, vocals like I've not heard before, Chris Rea and his gravelly voice is right there, So I changed cd after cd and we just sitting there saying fcuking hell wow did you hear that ,had to keep backwards on cds to hear that bit again. Even the missus loves them and she's really not into hifi. The top end is very sweet and detailed without being too top endy . I am still running them in so expect a few changes but probly not much. These speakers really are good. Plus you don't need to turn up the volume loud to get sense out of them. I suppose if my volume knob was normal,it would be at 9 oclock. Hope this all makes sense.

Thanks for the review, you make them sound intriguing. I know from some Facebook groups that quite a few people are considering them. Looks like Wharfedale have a success on their hands.

Thanks, I wouldn't call it a review, more of a telling what what I feel. One thing I have noticed with these speakers is how some instruments are put in the air in front of me? Never had that before. It is great to have that sound.

Update as speakers are well and truly run in. Wow these things keep getting better. Hearing things I never heard before, instruments, extra vocals . Bass is lots of it plus it's nice and tight. Midrange with Eva Cassidy singing is orgasmic. Such a delicate but detailed top end . We was listening to Songbird From Fleewtwood Macs Rumours Album, it was like Christine Mcvie was sat in front of playing and singing. Then onto Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon filled the whole living room with sound almost had us dizzy. The helicopter from The Wall ( Pink Floyd) was pounding us in the chest. Love it love them.

Just read the Stereophile review. These do seem good and I am curious to hear a pair. Not to buy, but I am curious.

Just read the Stereophile review. These do seem good and I am curious to hear a pair. Not to buy, but I am curious. Honestly there are worth every penny, they could sell them for more just on the finish. But the sound really is something else, I had them since 10am through 7pm good music session, never listened to speakers that long before. Absolutely no listening fatigue! Even the wife sat with me all day, she said they lovely first time she said about speakers. Really good reviews all over the place. I was lucky to have got a pair in Walnut. Every time I rang dealers for a set, they had sold out of Mahogany and Walnut. Very popular speakers.

I think it's great to see a manufacturer who is brave enough to make even a limited move away from solely making pencil thin squit-boxes.

I cannot stand pencil dick speakers, nasty things.

LOL - very nice indeed!
You might want to put a ‘search alert’ in hifishark to let you know when a Destiny comes up for sale - quite rare on the second hand market here as you most likely know.
