I'm going to disagree with pretty much everyone. That guy is the drummer I want in my band. He keeps his head down, doesn't have an ego, and locks with the bass player and just gets on with things. In fact, where he double-times on "I Am" it feels to me like he's overplaying in some places. Having said that, who am I to argue with Richie Hayward? They're not playing "flashy" music most of the time, even Jonny's lead guitar playing is, for the most art, fairly restrained by most standards. Out the whole band I'd say David Smith, on bass, was having the most "fun" with the music. He's laying down some great, funky, stuff when the mood takes him. I'd say that this is music you'd love to listen to in a club, when you'd be nodding away happily instead of analysing who's doing what. Of course, at 17, Jonny probably wouldn't be allowed into the club. 4/ 5 from me.
