Well after 4 hours of listening I am impressed, I had to adjust the bass output a bit more to get the balance right, but as soon as I did that I got lots of depth I really like this More depth detail and the balance has changed to me even enjoying Quobuz lol Very natural drivers that are just effortless. Hard to believe how cheap the drivers are I can see myself not going back to my original setup

Well, that's a great outcome then, John. Especially if they're cheap.

Amazing result!!
Of course put the frames on some Grey Tagliatelle for a proper upgrade ... 😁
Actually, better not, will cost more than the drivers LOL.

I have not listened to Quobuz even though I am doing extended listening sessions. For me, it is listening to files where I find myself mostly listening on the system. I have a listen today and let you know my thoughts.

I find with the new drivers I am listening to music for long extended periods. There seems to be more space and that experience of hearing into the recording more, hearing stuff I did not know was on the recording. My old drivers would throw music at you and take no prisoners. This will seduce you first and then surprise you with their effortless clout. I find it an addictive listen.

Sounds like the presentation is less in your face, with more depth and detail in the soundstage. That's bound to suit hi-res better, John.

Unfortunately my Quobuz subscrition ended before I could really test out. I will not be renewing anytime soon.

Yesterday I put the PRV and Beyma drivers back in. They still sound good but just do not have the same sense of effortless sound that the other driver do so I soon put the new drivers back in.

I wonder if you should find a way of lashing the middle two drivers to the side supports, John? At the moment, it looks like they are able to move further than the top and bottom ones in reaction to the cone movement. That would mean that the array is effectively flexing into an alternating convex and concave shape. I would imagine that would be counter-productive.

The drivers are all linked together at the back. They are held in quite tightly with the wire both Top and Bottom I add some more pictures tonight

That would mean that the array is effectively flexing into an alternating convex and concave shape. I would imagine that would be counter-productive. This floating driver arrangement is counter-intuitive, I have my pairs of 15" bass drivers suspended by wire, very free to move...but they don't even with close to 1kW moving the cones. Must be due to the mass of the cones vs the magnet etc.

I realise that the suspension concept is as you say but I was concerned that the movement of the array might be, effectively, a wave. Surely an array needs to move (if it is going to move) as one single entity? I can't see how that might happen with this arrangement. Am I missing something?
