Was intending to join up after Easter when I got back from Australia, but that trip was cancelled by you know what ....
Anyway where to start?
Live in North London (near that Julian chap who seems to lurk around this forum - lol), in fact he encouraged me to join here.
Been into audio off and on for far longer than I care to remember. Reinvigorated my interest a lot about 6 years ago. Tastes include 70/80s prog rock (= misspent youth
), female vocal, jazz and classical - but can't say I'm very knowledgeable in any genre. Always learning.
Tend to play around with audio boxes (don't we all?) so system often changes.
Current main system: Roon > RPi digi+pro > coax > Metrum Hex dac > LDR pre and from there to either a Radford STA 25 series 5 > Tannoy Berkeleys or LDR > LehmannAudio buffer > Trilogy 968 > Tannoy Berkeleys.
Tannoy Berkeleys (HPD 15) improved with crossovers fettled/recapped by Paul C at RFC and all damping changed according to Paul's recipe.
Secondary system (mainly for testing things): Roon > MiniITX running either Roon Rock or Windows 10 > usb > Chevron Paradox NOS dac > Sugden (brought up to 2018 IA4 spec by Sugden) > Tannoy Eatons.
In this system also been playing with a vinyl rig (Sony PS6750). Aim here is to see if I want to get back into vinyl after having not played vinyl for years. So very much work in progress, but like what I hear so far.
Other work in progress is playing around with active crossovers using Roon functionality to provide the digital crossovers.
