OK classical music fiends, get your ears round this. I read that Wigmore Hall have scheduled scores of live streaming concerts between now and Xmas with a plethora of absolutely top talent … it really is mouth-watering! Big respect to the Hall's management for their determination to stay relevant and active. I will be very happy to put hand in pocket for these - I absolutely adore this venue and it must survive. Highlights for me include Leonidas Kavakos, Rachel Podger, Beatrice Rana, Mariam Batsashvili, Ingrid Fliter, Jennifer Pike, Steven Kovacevich and the Carducci String Quartet. You get the picture?? wigmore-hall.org.uk/whats-on/event-listing

I don't know why but I've never been to the Wigmore Hall.

Yes, looks quite good, but I'll probably wander off after the orchestral intro to the finale of the 9th. I really can't be arsed with all the pompous vocal histrionics.
And the divine Ms M wouldn't be at the top of my list, either.

About 1.5 hours of wonderful music there.
Should be available in their library soon.
They opened with Sonata in E minor BWV1023 - I can't believe I can only find one recording of this on Spotify!
Surely some mistake?
Have a listen to the 1m Allegro - it's mighty fine.

That certainly is a mistake - there are loads of recordings on Spoti. Just look for complete recordings of the sonatas.

The Spoti search engine is hopeless at finding that E minor sonata.
Also many recordings seem to exclude it for some reason, including Rachel Podger herself.

I think there's a knack to search engines that a lot of people don't have.

Riddle me this then - I had this recording labelled Complete Sonatas but it doesn't include the E minor!
I'm not completely barking ...

Woof! Hmm, yes. 2 albums with the same cover but different contents, one labelled as Vol. 1 the other without mention of a volume number. A bit of a screw up. Luckily I stumbled on the one with the E minor sonata first! It takes skill, that does.

You need to be a supreme search engine operative to master classical "Ko-booz" searches.
Symphonie Chostakovich Sept
...are just some of the things that catch you out.

Truly this man is a master of the search engine! It's a natural talent, you're either born with it or you aren't.
