I have been recently talking to Vic of Trans-Fi and John at Temple Audio and decided to go balanced I also decided to put everything in one case ( 2 superchargers and 2 monoblocks amplifiers) Speaking to John the board is actually designed as a balanced board. So it makes sense. John did the work to the board and Vic did the work to the case.

It is a nice step up in sound as gives a bit more impact, detail and depth

Balanced nearly always sounds better to my ears.

With Class D it often makes sense as usually such amps are inherently balanced. Going balanced removes a single-ended conversion to balanced conversion, which may be a good thing depending on your preamp...as John's does balanced it should be a good move. That's my take on why it works in this scenario. My Lindemann POWER is likewise balanced, based on Hypex.

I too find that balanced sounds better, but I only have experience of this in relation to Dacs. I understand that the voltage is greater than single ended at around 4v. Is it this alone? or does balanced really provide better noise rejection?

Balanced is designed for common mode noise rejection, that's what it does - it is inherently quieter. However, I think there is also something to do with how the driver stage runs them, it puts more welly down the cable which driven components respond well to.

I added 4 AMR fuses to the 2 PSU but I can hear no difference to performance They are not making things worse either That was unexpected

I have had success in the past but totally irrelevant in this case

All not lost I put 1 off the fuses into the Topping instead and a small upgrade in depth and insight Jules if you want I can send 1 to you

Hi John, I don't know when I'm going to be able to switch the system on with present home arrangements, but if you still have a spare one further down the road I would certainly give it a try, thanks.
