Did enough AB testing with this to be sure enough to get one from @tonyc. Wary of wrecking my precious CDs it has been too long coming into regular service Had a collection of old CDs from work so practised on them. Yes. Think I have it so carefully put in Rick Springfield - Karma from the current playlist. Hmm. Seems good on a quick AB. Listening through the whole album brings up a brighter, cleaner and clearer sound. The 1 minute AB didn't give me that. Rick Springfield again - Songs for the end of te world Oh yes this is good. Oooh, another lathe - how can I resist?! Mind I suppose I could just mount them on my instrument lathe. At least it sounds musical! I wonder if part of any audible changes might be related to improved dynamic balance. I know that some BluRay discs can be heard to vibrate in our player in Germany. I would imaging that doesn't improve tracking accuracy / uniform reflection.

You should be able fix one up to do what you need, especially if you are more competent than me ! Needs about 45' angle cut into the straight edge

Listening to the playlist with albums i know very well confirms this is a great way to improve sound from CDs. Noticed today a CD looked out of square After being treated it was fine so any irregularities were ground off Wonder if this may also improve sound With an engineering background and the appropriate kit I think you could do this yourself Just take it from straight edge to what looks like 45', cutting the minimum off so as not to dig into the CD and ruin it !

I am truly sold on this little box. The improvements in sound on the playlist are so many Clarity, detail, emotion in the music, depth, touch more bass. All from grinding away the edge of your CD

More proof if any were needed that some CDs have more to offer than others
Peter Hammill - Past Go was improved. His albums are usually well made
However Andreas Vollenweider's Dancing with the Lion and Behind the gardens
both reveal an amazing breadth, detail, sharpness of detail
Can't tell which ones have more to give
