It's not overexposed for me as (classical dweeb that I am) I've never heard it before. I do recognise some of the songs but hadn't realised they came from this album, or even from this band!
Having read Paul's description of the background to the recording first (which was probably a mistake) the songs come across as a bit whiney and whingeing, with rather unpleasant pokes being made at each other!
Nonetheless, the music is generally pleasantly upbeat. Nicely varied.
I enjoyed some of the (all too brief) guitar solo work more than the rather poppy rest of it. The last part of The Chain is great fun, probably the best song on the album imo.
Very good sound quality.
Would I play it again? Overall, probably not. The Chain will likely go on my 'play for non-classical visitors list' 2 for me.

Don't like the make or female vocals, especially the warbler Music is average at best for me Then Play on is the very best they did Funny how we are all different, Mike. Because I really don’t like that Fleetwood Mac album. An utterly different album of course

I am going to be the odd one out here No you're not John
I think I used to enjoy this back in the day and have it on vinyl and CD . . . . but was that because it was an album everyone had to own?
I certainly don't play it anymore and I really don't like much by them since Bare Trees. I rarely play anything by FM these days, unless Peter Green is in the mix.
I can however appreciate it's a very well crafted collection of pop songs and an important part of music history, but it's not something I want to spend time with. The Ed Sheeran of the 70s.
1/5

Saw them in the early days more times than I can remember. wonderful. Especially when they went into their versions of old rock n roll numbers at the end They had a good time and so did we !

More instrumentally led, much less poppy easy listening. It sounds more like they mean it, rather than just taking swipes at each other.

The Chain is a wonderful song, forever linked to Formula One, of course, due to the BBC using it. That bass guitar really grumbles with menace when you play it on big speakers. For me, the most perfect (!) song is Christine McVie's Songbird. People seem to know the Eva Cassidy version but McVie did it first and best.
Sound quality is odd: it's a bit like a hi-res view of a compressed soundstage. You can hear the multi-track layers very easily.
On the vote I have to give it 3/5.

The moment Buckingham / Nicks joined the band it's a pity the band didn't change it's name , Peter Green's band is totally different , of course he didn't want his band named after him so the name lived on .
