I thought I’d share this little tweak I did a couple of days ago. My speakers are active and each contain a Toroidal transformer. The left speaker in particular had developed a mechanical hum that was audible if the room was quiet, so I decided to open them up with the intention of removing the transformer and putting some rubber sheet between it and the chassis. Once I got the backs off the speakers I could see there were already rubber discs under and on top of the transformers. I tightened the transformers, the left speakers transformer being a little loose. I then cut a strip of car audio sound deadening mat to wrap around the transformer. siless.myshopify.com/products/siless-80mil-36-sqft-sound-deadening-mat-sound-deadener-mat-car-sound-insulationThis is self adhesive and foil backed. My theory being it would mechanically dampen the transformer and also shield the electronics inside the speakers from the transformer. It seems to have worked nicely, both speakers being silent now and it has also had a positive effect on the listening experience, improving resolution.

Nice. I had a similar experience with shielding my LKS DAC toroids (two of them). They didn't hum but the mod was beneficial for sound quality.

I’m quite impressed by the improvements in sound, but I wouldn’t use this sound deadening Mat on anything your likely to sell or that has warranty left. It’s incredibly sticky and probably won’t come off too easily.

Mike
All of your TX's (four of them) are suspended and isolated in your TAD equipment all this is done as standard
