If everything in that articles is true it's an incredible invention. I would imagine that he needs to "watch his back" with most oil-producing countries not being noted for their laissez-faire approach to anyone threatening their dominance.

Very interesting, and logical when you think about it I suppose. I'm going to assume that they've recognised the possibility of one IWM failing and the resultant, very unexpected, new direction you'd be heading in.

I like the idea of in wheel motors. However, for racing purposes as low as possible unsprung mass is very important.. Perhaps the advantages could outweigh the disadvantages though..
