That is so blatant. eBay don't seem to care.

You get the feeling (and I hesitate to say this out loud) that they're actually missing a trick by not charging four or five times the price that they do to make them appear more like a genuinely discounted item instead of an obvious counterfeit.

Speaking as someone who has just bought half-a-dozen AudioQuest leads, (optical, RCA, USB, HDMI) some of them used, not to mention some Indigo Blue Speaker Cable... Hopefully, though, the stuff I bought is low enough down the " food chain" to make it uneconomical to fake.

I promise I paid full whack for the Cinnamon I sold you! Didn't buy it from eBay either.

I promise I paid full whack for the Cinnamon I sold you! Didn't buy it from eBay either. Yours is the only used lead I know I don't need to worry about, Martin. I don't suppose you've got a 1.5m cinnamon HDMI lead going for a couple of quid, have you? I'm off to hook up the Chromecast, my USB lead has just arrived courtesy of DHL.

A few days ago I was looking at some AQ speaker cable that seemed good value around 200 quid, some way less than half price. But on closer inspection could see that it had a rather different style braid than those advertised as new, so gave it a wide berth ...

A few days ago I was looking at some AQ speaker cable that seemed good value around 200 quid, some way less than half price. But on closer inspection could see that it had a rather different style braid than those advertised as new, so gave it a wide berth ... There are two things that have put me off speaker cable lately. The first lot had no visible makers description written on the cable. Now it could be that that was just how the cable lay was photographed, but not in every shot. The second had the correct text on the cable, but it was smudged. Both "might" have been perfectly innocent and genuine, but I had no intention finding out the hard way.

For what it's worth, I've reported that listing.
