I’ve meant to try a DC blocker since forever and should have done when I moved into my current place; the hum on my transformers can be pretty bad at points. I live near to railway tracks, perhaps that’s a contributor.
I purchased one of the items as per the thread title. Its not cheap, but I don’t want garbage in my system, so if I’m going to do it, I’ll do it properly.
It’s due for delivery tomorrow, I’ll report back when I’ve got it plugged in.
Has anyone else experienced using this is in their system? I’m not too sure what to expect, but with all the crud on the line around me, I’m optimistic it’ll make a worthwhile improvement.

It's shame that Nick didn't fit DC blockers inside his equipment knowing how good it is. It is something that a lot of manufacturers do not make the effort for, having been in this position in the past, for the last five years we have fitted all of the Belles amps with them as standard.

The MCRU Ultimate DC blocker uses Nick's DC blocker design and works very well.

It turned up today, so like an excited kid I plumbed it in. I’ve not done any critical listening yet, but even casually I pick up the roughness and brightness of a new component, the system sounds more edgy than I am used to. I’ve been in this game long enough to not make any snap judgements just, I’m sure that it’ll settle in nicely. I am picking up extra information, but again, I’ll report back when I’m satisfied it’s fully run in. The unit comes with voltage and amperage meters on the front, so I did what any of us would do; crank the system louder than I ever have before to see what they did! I’m delighted and reassured they didn’t budge, even in the slightest, during dynamic (and bloody loud) passages, I presume this means the amps are operating happily within their power reserves. Of course, analogue dials will never show peak demands (too slow) but I’m happy. Oh yeah, there is zero transformer hum now

Indeed Jules I left my amps on overnight to help with cooking the unit and my early impression today is that it’s already settling in. The stridency I mentioned yesterday has lessened a great deal and there is definitely an improvement in sound quality; there’s slightly better detail retrieval, so I presume this is as a result of the noise floor being lowered further. I’ll sit down to critically listen when I get the time. Right now I’m happy with the direction it’s moved things.

If you are referring to Nick Gorham chief how do you know he doesn't fit dc blockers inside his gear?

Hi Dave As Martin (Oz)the OP, has Nick's mono-blocks and dac and has purchased a DC blocker it would seem like a fair assumption, that's all Dave

To clarify, the biggest hummer was my Paul Hynes PSU and Sanders Magtech amp (now sold).
The P6s were already much quieter than the Magtech ever was; now everything is utterly silent and I have 100% peace of mind.
