Further and deeper into politically correct madness, or so it seems to me. www.theguardian.com/media/2019/aug/14/first-ads-banned-for-contravening-gender-stereotyping-rules"Two television ads, one featuring new dads bungling comically while looking after their babies and the other a woman sitting next to a pram, have become the first to be banned under new rules designed to reduce gender stereotyping.... Clearcast, the body responsible for vetting ads before they are broadcast, also expressed its frustration at the decisions. “We are naturally disappointed,” it said. “The ASA’s interpretation of the ads against the new rule and guidance goes further than we anticipated and has implications for a wide range of ads.”"

I agree with the underlying principal of the new rules, gender stereotyping can and has been harmful imo.
But these particular initial rulings just seem crazy to me.

Perhaps because the bloke is seen to be useless I must amend myself calling the dogs "girls" and "boys" in case I get banned from my house and garden

The headline I read featured "Philadelphia" and I immediately thought "bloody typical Americans..," and then I read the article. Apropos of nothing - "Grammarly" thinks that a reasonable alternative to Philadelphia is Paedophilia. Don't spread that around though.
