Not sure if this belongs in its own thread but these deep fake videos are frightening.
I've shown family and friends a few and they don't even see it they don't know what I'm on about.
The latest one I've seen is Jim Carrey's face on many scenes with Jack Nicholson in The Shining.
I'd seen deep fakes before and still didn't understand that Jim Carrey had no involvement with this.

It's been too long for me too. I'll throw on the Shining tonight.
Here's another deep fake that I can't seem to get anyone I've shown to in person to even notice. To me it's so strange.

I suspect that this tech will throw our system of democratic elections into meltdown.
Vlad Putin etal will be doing a jig of delight as his hackers go into overdrive with fake vids.
Very scary indeed.

Once you get past the plethora of Deepfake porn, and "funny" videos, you get examples of stuff like this, which is when it starts getting scary...

I've just found an old (February 2018) episode of the BBC's Click which discusses Deepfakes. Remember, this was made 18 months ago, and we all know how fast things move in the world of computers...
