There are a couple of good links here, to ESS Technology, briefly explaining the differences between their SABRE DAC chips, with links to more info about individual chips. Oddly, although it's mentioned in a 2016 press release, the ES9038Q2M doesn't seem to feature.

The beauty of using, say, the 9038Pro is that all the channels allow for use in parallel to reduce noise and improve decoding. Implement them as dual-mono and you effectively have 8 DACs in parallel giving the exceptional detail retrieval that I hear in mine.

The Q2M is a mobile low power version, my guess including just 2 channels for single-chip stereo operation.
