Gone Gone Beyond's Little Moon is now on Qobuz 44 x 16. Nice performance and some very potent bass, especially that plunging note. I don't think much of either the mics on their voices or their placement.

Interesting. The vocals remind me very much of Ibeyi.

You might like the bass on "River" by them too.

"Ibeyi" by Ibeyi is on Qobuz. I came across them via a documentary by Stewart Copeland and bought their CDs a while back. I'm playing it via Qobuz at the moment and I think you'll like the bass at least!

Yes, I've listened to this a while ago. Before it was on streaming platforms. The accompanying vid is worth a watch. Rather watery for the River song🙂 Sounds better on Qobuz👍 32Hz low is the lowest. But it's on the same amplitude as the rest of the music (on my ststem) so it kicks. It is quite unusual for mixers to do this. They usually seem to bottle it and back off somewhat.

Nearly challenges Veronica Maggio's - Solen har gått ned, on deeper sustained tones. That still takes the biscuit for sub 25Hz on my system. I've just scanned back and found this on Qobuz. Seriously potent!

Whilst checking this out, from a Spotify ad Link (the bass is not that deep, but I like the B movie 70s or 80s sci-fi riff vibe.. (Only on Spotify so far, a few others are on Qobuz though) I came across this (features a different artist with the same name). Here the bass is pretty deep and sustained.

I'm struggling to forgive Lana for this. Unless there's more to it? Fecking up😭 The Trio - The Good the Bad and the Ugly, is just unforgivable! It is not as deep as it should/could be either and just annoying! 🙄

Ouch - that's an epic moment in the film. What was she thinking?
What's the rest of the album like? I haven't listened to it yet.

Try "Woody And Dutch On The Slow Train To Peking" from Rickie Lee Jones – Pirates, Warner Bros. Records – WB 56 816 There is some serious bass at the opening and it continues through the track. Spotify

It's a superb semi-live track, very vibrant, real and highly dynamic. By comparison with other tracks offered here, though, the bass is good but not exceptional.

It depends what you mean by killer bass, it is clear well defined and lots of punch, if you just want low deep bass I can find plenty of that.

It's just a fun thread. The ideal is killer bass - not just deep bass or punchy bass, but killer bass!

I guess that "Sonic Attack" by Hawkwind should fit in here. However, after the third engineer snuffed it, it seems they switched the generator off and stuck with Harvey on a regular bass when they recorded it!

If it isn't 0db (or very close to) & sub 30Hz, it isn't killer🙂
Older recordings don't have this. Unless churchy. Things went to about 40Hz and that was that. With the advent of synths and the 5 string bass (29Hz) to compete with them, we got some low stuff.
Some artists (a few) go further down 'the deep' road though.
Most 'hi-fi' speakers don't do killer deep bass.

After that I found a remastered Ennio original, listened to that. Awesome! Then I went and watched A Fist Full of Dollars 😂 For a Few Dollars more, this evening?
