By far my favourite group of all time. I first came across them in a bizarre set of circumstances whereby my Dad bought a Mark Knopfler soundtrack album called Cal. What does that have to do with Def Leppard you may ask. Well, the album covers, case and CD all said Mark Knopfler - Cal, but in fact, the music on the CD is Def Leppard - Hysteria. We didn't realise that at the time, but that is longer story. From that time onwards I have been a big fan. I own all of their albums, including greatest hits and live albums and have been to see them more than any other band. Here is the Wiki page on Def Leppard en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Def_LeppardHere is a list of albums by year and my personal rating out of 10:
On Through The Night - 1980 - 7/10High 'n' Dry - 1981 - 7/10Pyromania - 1983 - 8/10Hysteria - 1987 - 10/10Adrenalize - 1992 - 9/10Retro Active - 1993 - 8/10Slag - 1996 - 10/10Euphoria - 1999 - 8/10X - 2002 - 4/10Yeah - 2006 - 9/10Songs from the Sparkle Lounge - 2008 - 7/10Def Leppard - 2015 - 7/10

Back around Pyromania I quite enjoyed them, but they got too commercial for my taste.

Not my cup of tea Paul. I listened to the first album when it came out, thought it was over-rated and since then, everything I have heard by them has seemed worse! My sister's boyfriend at the time had a copy of the original ep which will be worth a bit now, I should guess.

Nobody like Def Leppard here? Not particularly. They were one of the bands in the NWOBHM (Google it), and I didn't think that any of the NWOBHM bands were great. Some have been successful, but they're still not great IMO.

I have a lot of good memories of the NWOBHM horrible term created by Geoff Barton. Saw Maiden before they were signed My favourite was Diamond Head who were a fantastic live band in their early days. Remember seeing them completely destroy April Wine and the Woolwich Odeon night after the riots will stay with me for many reasons. Unfortunately poorly managed and badly let down by MCA with the poor pressing of Canterbury

Fair enough, we all have opinions.

Back around Pyromania I quite enjoyed them, but they got too commercial for my taste. I can understand that, also losing Steve Clark had a much bigger impact on the band than they could have imagined IMO. He was a key contributor to the songs and you could hear their change in style following his death. The certainly became more commercial following the release of Pyromania and Hysteria.

Pyromania is one of my favourite albums of the era. It's just full of great songs, superb production, and still has a powerful edge to it. At the time they took a lot of stick for being so successful - spending too much time in America and 'selling out'. I haven't listened to anything post Hysteria - there's a few great songs on the album but I didn't like the new 'poppier' songs like Pour Some Sugar ... I'll certainly have a listen to the later albums but suspect they won't be quite to my taste.

As you like Pyromania, it would be worth a listen to Euphoria as it seems to me to be a bit of a modern take on Pyromania in its style.
Slang has a different edge to it, and was attempting to go off on a varied path, I liked it, but I know it wasn't popular with a lot of fans.
X IMO is there biggest let down, it sounds to me like a boy band album. I would avoid at all costs.
Songs for the Sparkle Lounge and Def Leppard are them trying to go back to their roots a little bit, but to be honest, I like them but my overall favourites remain as Hysteria and Slang.
