Bought a pair for £70 today just for the crack
Hmmmm
Not sounding that great tbh...
Gonna have to play about with them and see what I can do.
Hard to describe what I'm hearing...

They should sound reasonable but you may need to check that all the drivers are working and none of the crossover components have blown.

I think it's just the comparison that I'm not used to MartinT - they're just not a patch on my horns.
Got a feeling I'll be able to get more out them though.

Bunged up the bass ports and that's a bit better...
Gonna try some Supra cable with them later.

Changed out to Supra cable and they're better.
Still sound a bit subdued though

Ok so....sold on the Alyas and a few metres of Supra speaker cable - got £120 for them. Then went off and bought a pair of 1 owner from new,Omar 860s for £70.
Setting them up now.

The Omars are a bit of a rarity, I think Chris. I bet not many folks will have heard of them.

Yeah,quite rare. The 880 was top of the line and these are the 860.
They're superb. Much more my kind of thing.
Big speakers in a nice rosewood finish.
I'll get some pics up soon.

I have never really got on with Rega speakers, they all sound a bit forward and thin in my experience. Quite a similar sound to Naim speakers.

Can't say I was keen on them mate. They were subdued,lifeless and a bit dull imo.
Glad I could move them on.
