I am very proud to say that KONDO will be exhibiting one of their systems in my room at the forthcoming Cranage Show which is held on the weekend of 29th-30th June. Running through my Maxonic field coil loudspeakers this should not be missed. Cranage is now one of the best hifi shows in the UK, free attendance and free parking. Well I enjoyed the show, despite the good impression our room was doing of an oven on Saturday. Doesn’t help running a large Class A Pass amp..
Didn’t get a lot of time to wander around, but I was impressed with Kondo, and also the room with the large Amphion speakers which I thought very good. Tannoys sounded dire when I was in there which was a shame as I was looking forward to hearing them.
Interesting part for me was having dinner with the Kondo chaps, the owner/guru who was taught by Kondo San, the chief designer and Charles, their new marketing guy who is from Hong Kong. They really don’t like Audio Note UK..
Surprising the learn they have a tiny factory in Kawasaki with only 7 employees in total.

I'm guessing Ali is referring to the Tannoy Kingdom Royal Mk II (£52K) He told me he was looking forward to hearing them.  ('scuse the ropey photo - 1 second exposure!) |

They sounded dire when I went in, like a crap PA to be honest. Did like the full size Perspex model of an Autograph though.
Did you hear the large Amphion speakers in one of the downstairs rooms?

I was the only person sat listening to them while I was there - I was surprised no-one else in the room seemed interested.

Nice to catch up with Chris on Sunday, the Cranage show is always a great event, real people, virtually zero bag carriers and brochure collectors and they like their music 'Up North'
Thanks to all those that dropped in to both rooms, and yes even Kondo did sound very respectable as well (must be those Maxsonics)

It is a Fester group show lol, one exhibiting (at Cranage) who will be exhibiting at TAS was moaning that they wanted all the costs up front welcome to the world of the Birds  Surprised he didn't wait until two weeks before the show when the fun really starts  |
