Kind of Telemann's version of JS Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin.
Telemann was an almost exact contemporary of JSB (1681 - 1767) (vs JSB's 1685-1750).
I think the music is wonderful, maybe not take all 12 in in one go, but jolly good for dipping into 20 minutes at a time perhaps.
I like Peter Sheppard's recording - wonderful playing and excellent sq, too. Quite a lot of other recordings around, as well.

5/10 from me. Not exactly boring, but definitely the word I need is probably an antonym of exciting.

I got as far as #23. Not a huge improvement, but slightly preferable. I'll give the guitar versions a go later if I get the chance.

Thanks Jerry, not listened to the full set yet but I love what I have played so far, definitely the best Telemann I have heard.
Nothing second rate in this music at all but I’m convinced there is more to come in the performance though; needs a bit more depth and nobility. 8/10 for the music and 6/10 for performance.
There are a surprising number of recordings to choose from … Would have loved to hear this with Alina Ibragimova but none exists and so I have started with baroque violinist Federico Guglielmo. I feel it’s a step upwards but am definitely going to try some more …
Here’s a taster.

Fabio Bindi works for me.
I agree that Sheppard isn't very baroquian.

I found this on Qobuz. Beautiful sound and I cannot fault the performance. I find a solo instrument doesn't have the interplay of many performers with different instruments and sound textures. I wanted something different way before getting through all 12. Looking at your scale I'll give it a 6/10.

Fabio Bindi works for me. Yes I sampled his too and liked it a lot ... Andrew Manze in the same vein.
