This is a link to a WHAT HI*FI article entitled " 10 of the best songs to test your speakers" from October last year. The tracks suggested therein may cause anything from derision to delight; perhaps you have some of the tracks in your arsenal and use them already...or don't. There is not just the one article though, at the bottom is a list of further links: 10 of the best tracks for testing treble 10 of 2018's best albums to test your speakers 10 of the best tracks to test your headphones 12 of the best vinyl test records 12 great jazz recordings to test your hi-fi system 15 hi-res album downloads to treat your hi-fi system 15 of the best piano tracks to test your system 18 songs that sound their best on vinyl 19 of the best tracks for testing dynamics, rhythm and timing 21 of the best vocal tracks to test your system 25 of the best tracks for testing bass 50 of the best hi-fi albums for audiophiles I know in what high regard magazines like WHAT HI*FI are held among the hifi cognoscenti and knew you chaps would appreciate the pointers the above articles give. There's plenty there to start many an argument so... off you go.

There are a couple of decent ones there, to be fair. However, we all have different test tracks when listening to other systems and are unlikely to agree on the 'best' ones.
See also our thread about it.

See also our thread about it. I know the thread, Martin, I've even contributed to it I believe. I just thought it would be *fun* to see what the self-proclaimed experts chose, and why.

Not being a snob but WHF have no real clue about the best of anything. I bet they don't have a decent turntable in their demo room for starters, probably a mid priced Pro-ject or a Rega.
They certainly won't have head the 2 new MoFi one step vinyl recordings which jump to the top of anything quoted as "the best" IMO.

I have added a few tracks from the lists in the o/p to a playlist and will comment on them as I find them.
Yes, What Hi-Fi is a bit of a joke but music is music and it doesn't do any harm to listen to new things.
