I actually met this chap around 20 years ago while in another profession, he oozed an understated, funny personality with a delightful charm that very few performers do. Wish him the best.

Thanks for receiving this post in the spirit I'd hoped for. I thought long and hard about posting it - it's not the most cheery thing to share - but after reading it last night I thought that there were enough of us here who are "of an age" and have the sort of sense of humour to have appreciated him in his heyday.

I remember a report on him many years ago about his mental health , I was under the impression at the time it was irreversible , obviously not , I hope he can make some sort of comeback .
