Go straight to the last place that you intend to look.

Spikes - to use as bolts Have RDCs Need to find out what size the holes are. Hopefully the same as each other

You need threaded studs which you can get from ironmongery outlets.

Ebay has what I need in depth. (Must stop buying all sorts of interesting bits I might find a use for !)
Probably going for M6 and M8 grub screws, adjustable with an Allen key

What weight can they take, David? Funny I don't know Peter! I have a quadraspire 4 tier rack on them currently in the shop, it has a Pioneer A400, LDA MCJ3 phono stage and a Pioneer PL12D on it. I will ask Derrick.

I found my photos... You made it sound worse then? The spring idea is better! RDC is a bit old now far better things available IMO.

Nope, the sound got tighter after those mods. RDC may have been bettered but they still make great decoupling supports and compliment Black Ravioli rather well. They also take a lot of weight.
The springs were wobbly and it was impossible to ever get the thing to stay level.

M6 and M8 grub screws arrived.
Decided to put the first set on the kitchen diner system Sound Org rack as I spend a fair bit of time there.
Setup is a Pioneer PD S703 CD player, SMSL Q5 Amp, TDL speakers all on the Sound Org rack.
Grub Screws into the RDC cones as far as they will go Blocked the rack up with logs for the burner. Not identical to the feet sitting on blockwood on a wooden floor but close enough. Grub Screws into the Sound Org feet. RDCs touching the feet nicely. Might this go well ? Not looking forward to levelling ....
Played Bajofondo remix. Fine.
Carefully took out the logs, oh so so carefully RDC points down onto the wooden floor - all level - brilliant.
Not knowing what to expect but hoping for a good result played again Nice. More detail, more bass, more rounded and nicer sound. More music ! RDC cups carefully put under the cones Better again. More of the same. RDC sorbothane RDC mix bases cones carefully inserted under the cups Better again. More of the same.
I like this and still all level !
Switching back to the CD I had been playing nicer sound, easier to listen to. Will play the usual stuff and hear how it is over the next few days. Sounds like a keeper. Looks better too.

My findings too, I have the same under both my EB shelves for maximum isolation, then the components sit on Black Ravioli on the shelves. Best combination I've yet found.

I’ve got RDC spikes, cups and combi based underneath every component and isolation rack in my system.
I really like what it does to the the sound, better focus, clearer, deeper and more tuneful bass. I darent listen to any other solutions as I don’t want more cost and anxiety lol.
Great is good enough for me!

You have to spend a lot more to improve on the sound RDCs give Black Ravioli no problem - at £60 odd per foot. 3 or 4 feet needed per piece of kit

Sound confirmed as definitely better on a known album Pete Shelley - XL1
Time to try out cones under the TDL RTL 2 speakers. Sitting direct on an engineered wooden floor.
Test. Nice sound.
Now for RDC cones with M6 bolts screwed into 4 handy M6 threads on the base of the TDLs Very nice. More body and weight in the music, more bass and detail. Nicer sound.
Now RDC cups under the RDC cones Very nice indeed. Even bigger improvement of the above. Midrange especially. Now listening to Trance soundtrack that I know well and hearing things that weren't there before.
'Louder' at the same volume
Thank you RDC cones
<later> Oh very nice. Very breathy female vocal. She was never so sultry before

I’m bracing myself to replace the cheapo footers on my p6 amps with RDC 1.2 spikes. Not hard in itself, but some components really aren’t fun to move in and out of racks lol!
I was going to leave it a while, but you’ve encouraged me to do it this weekend.
Glad to hear they’re helping out.

Get to it asap. Wish I had done this months ago Bear in mind this is in the kitchen diner and I don't listen intently as I am doing other things. The improvements are obvious even then. Can you jack up your rack on wooden logs or similar like I did ? Toyed with the idea of a car jack Next is the bedroom. Mana rack and Linn Saras

Next to mod
Pioneer PD-S703, SMSL Q5 (yes same as the kitchen) sitting on a Mana rack and Linn Saras on their own stands.
Test Ok, too much bass from a track I know very well. Mavis Staples - Eyes on the prize
RDC cones into base of Mana rack previously sitting on carpeted floor Bass tightened up, more midrange and top end detail RDC cups under cones More of the same RDC cones into Sara stands replacing spikes Same again.
Good result
Back to G36 tape deck playing before the testing. Sound is nicer, cleaner, more detail across treble midrange and bass
Kitchen system continues to sound very good.
