I'll resist the urge to slap in an appropriate Partridge quote. But needless to say, I'm looking for to it

Sorry to say, he's another comedian I have little time for.

I couldn't get on with Alan Partridge either, not my type of humour.

He's not my cup of tea either, I did enjoy Saxondale though.

Was surprised I didn't find him funny when he first arrived as he had been talked up a lot. Still don't find him funny.

I quite enjoyed the first in this new series, but I wouldn't class it "essential viewing".

I've really enjoyed the way that the new writing team have aged and developed Alan, so was expecting to enjoy this. I watched it at the weekend - was laughing throughout. Looking forward to see how it progresses/descends.

Looking forward to see how it progresses/descends. I agree. I could have lived without the "Simon Denton" segment, but Susannah Fielding makes a good foil for Coogan. The main complaint from long-time Partridge fans seems to be that it's too realistic to be funny. All I can say is, I'm glad I don't watch the sort of show it's based on. Eat My GOAL!

That's why I don't like it. Reality rather than humour Same for Only fools and horses I *knew* people like that I worked in London for almost 25 years and the fact that the characters are so recognisable is one of the things that makes Only Fools... funny, I think. Most decent local pubs had a " Del Boy" too I'm pleased to say, because I certainly bought (and sold) some hookey gear in my day. I did have to draw the line when the guy (whose name was Mike, coincidentally) wondered if I couldn't get vacuum cleaners up to London with me on the train, to sell on. There was barely room to stand on the train, and I'm not sure I'd have made it across London Bridge with a briefcase in one hand and a dirty great vacuum cleaner in the other. Only Fools and Horses = British comedy gold.
