I've just come across this on Amazon, and if you're looking to bung all of your music files in one place and hook that place up to a Pi, this might be just what you're looking for. Buffalo is a well-known name, but I should point out that I have no personal experience of their gear. The 'blurb' also states that it can - " Stream digital music in studio quality - the LS210 series has Direct Stream Digital (DSD) playback and streams high-end audio files without losing quality. Buffalo is working together with major Audio equipment brands to ensure compatibility with most network-capable AV Receivers, Players, and Streamers and DSD-native and DSD over PCM file formats." 3TB for £85.00 sounds pretty good though. smile.amazon.co.uk/Buffalo-LS210D0301-EU-3TB-LinkStation-Desktop/dp/B00IAEDT60

Buffalo are a HUGE Japanese company and manufacture a very capable digital music library/storage/streamer under the Melco brand!
I have the Melco N1ZH60/2 with 6TB of storage. I have almost 1000 albums ripped, most in WAV format and have still only used 12% of the available storage!
I use the 6TB Buffalo external HD to back up my collection and a Buffalo Blu-ray ripper to transfer CD's to the Melco!

We have two 24TB Buffalo stores for backups. They're good.

I got from a Maplin Sale (RIP) a 2TB Seagate NAS for £49.00 I store on it Movie's in MP4 and AVI. Then I got a 1TB from (RIP) with a built in WiFi and battery. I bloody nightmare to use but contain some nice music from Mozart to (spit cough) Beatles and ABBA. That was again less than £50.00 The video files are on it and some will not decode, but I can blame Peter for that he he link
