My highlights of the year
SMSL Q5 Pro
Insane VFM, very well made and great sound. For 70 odd quid.
Beresford PSU updates.
There were a few. I heard the difference at TASBO.
A big jump up in sound quality.
Coherent BD mains cable
Surprising difference to sound quality
Top of the tree for me in 2018
Coherent RTZ Grounding box.
The difference in my system was difficult to believe.
Add in more cables and it improved further.
(Another candidate is my complete system which now sounds so much better than I could have believed)
And the winner is.......
Me !
All that music revealed so well

Coherent QP-1 PSU.
Three Black Cat cables, all bought used: Silverstar 75, Neo Morpheus, Airwave 3202.
Tentlabs Superclock for my SEG DAC.
SGS-1 and SGS-1s grounding boxes.

Getting over my hearing loss, began mid July - slow going but pretty much there now. Wyred4Sound re-clocking widget. Topping D30 DAC. -- the end of the DAC race for me, I think. Until something else comes along.  Herron VTSP-2 preamp. Probably a long term keeper. Trigon TRE50M monoblocks - almost a year now! Still love them. EDGE i/c cables. Cheap but transparent. |

I have made many upgrades this year and all of them have made substantial difference to my system. In order of biggest difference.
Coherent 5D speaker cable and interconnect.
Belles Aria integrated amplifier
NovaFidelity X40 streamer
Creaktiv Trend 1 rack
Coherent mods to my Beresford Caiman SEG, although I’ve now sold this.

This year some stand out points meeting some new music heads and introducing to me to a new stream of music which I would not normally listen to
New amplifier technology which is just so right more on that next year, a new material for both cable designs and RFI / emi control
Serious improvements in my personal system SQ through various methods
New appreciation for the good lady

Quite a few highlights
Extensive mods to the Seg
A dedicated Coherent PSU with two rails built
Moving to the Black Tulip 380 and then getting the speakers terminals changed to Banana terminals
The SOtM 200 Ultra Neo
Building my own mains cable with OFC litz wire Took a few hours to make but really helped the Belles Preamp over the eBay cable I was using
Biggest change is using Spotify as my main source This has lead me to discover a lot of music that I probably have missed

Huge changes this year. Changes that will remain (no more upgrades for all of these).
The biggest would be swapping my Quad 11L speakers for ATC SCM19v2.
Then getting Audience AU24SX RCAs.
After that, tweaks.
The best in order (ish)
2 x Mad Scientist Nitro power cables.
iFi AC iPurifier
SR Red Fuse in DAC
Akiko Audio Fuse Box tuning chip
iFi USB Silencer
Shumann Resonator Chatres SE
Has meant I've moved away from my portable rig, back to daily two channel listening.
Still have the modded/reclocked SEG to add...
