It was only a matter of time before Flickr went the same way as Photobucket and it seems to have come around. The 1TB limit is no longer mentioned, instead they will limit free accounts to 1000 photos. If you have more, you will need to subscribe at $49.99 per annum.
However you may feel about subscription versus free products, please be prepared rather than get caught out at the last moment.

I see Photobucket have now backpedalled a little bit. It seems that they allow free use again, but your images are watermarked.

Thanks for the heads-up Martin. I don't use Flickr although I do have a paid subscription for Photobucket even though I don't use it so much now. I used to use it for linking images to RPF, but tend to upload them directly to the forum these days. For my main, non-commercial, imaging activities I have a website although I rarely link to images from that. www.babelsberg-studio.com/

I use Flickr a lot for posting images here (as there is a tariff for uploading). I would need to check how many images I have to see if I have hit the 1000 photo limit.

It's very handy having my own web space and being able to host my own images for use here, and elsewhere.

I will almost certainly use my Photobucket account to add images to posts here, which reminds me that I must take a picture of my systems and post them. It'll have to be Germany first though as that's where I am at the moment which means I'd better tidy up the studio tomorrow!

I have 665 photos, which is good. I shall in future use Flickr for hosting images to post here and continue to use my OneDrive account to store all my photos.

It seems that (on another audio forum) my previously blanked Photobucket images have come back to view , and without any "watermarks" that I can see.

That's good then.
