The headphone output doubles as an optical digital output so I’d use that rather than USB.

I use the headphone socket to connect to my Caiman DAC. Works fine.

the iMac pro will certainly have an optical output and I think the iPad might do too.

google,facebook and some banks for example are up there too.i don`t think your apple accounts get hacked as much or let third parties use your personal data.
