...and eight Daleks died in order to provide the feet. Now, that's got to be a good thing! It was a mercy killing. They'd fallen down the stairs!

Makes a great deal of sense in a confined space.

I now have gone totally baffle-less I have kept the same drivers. I am just using a metal frame with metal tubing and elastic wires suspending the drivers An even more radical approach that has further opened the sound.

ProAcs, Maggies and Impulse are very different speakers. Which sound signature do you like the most?

Well as far as I can remember it was these:- 1976 Wharfdale 2XP I think driven by Sansui 5050 receiver 1979 KEF 101 Driven by NAD 3020, got these as small room, should have kept the KEFs 1983 part of Akai stack system, Akai SW-T210 (I think), surprisingly good, don't turn your nose up at these if you are looking to build a budget system 1988/9 Snell Type K I had them on the very heavy Pirate stand and driven by Audio Innovations 500, wonderful speaker and amp combination 1998 KEF Reference Model Three/Twos, 40th birthday present still driven by the AN series 500, I fancied floor standers but even though I had them for several years was never quite happy with the bottom end I had a fit of madness in 2004 and sold my HiFi and move to a simple surround sound system, I suppose because we ran a guest house and had no time to listen properly 2006/7 Dali Ikon 6 for the left and right, my HiFi interest had re-kindled and I drove these with a Meridian 557 amp(very nice) and built a Meridian Surround Sound set up with Mission FXT flat panel satellite speakers, and centre speaker was a Meridian DSP33 active, it all sounded pretty good in the room we had at the time. 2016 Audiophile bug had bitten, I had purchased a pair of Renaissance RA01 300b mono-blocks and want better detail so a pair of ex-demo Wilson Benesch ARCs, these sound great, very revealing not too troublesome position wise as bass ports fire downward. 2017 I heard my friends Impulse H2's so hunt a good pair out, these are rather special iron speaker IMO and if you have enough room well worth a listen and a good pair are not too bad at around £1.5K, my advise is do not replace the crossover just do the well documented resistor mod. These eventually went due to domestic harmony issues. 2018 My friend lent me his Vienna Acoustic Mozart Grande SE's, and they sound very good, but as I found out a tricky position wise, a 2.5 design with rear ports, I enjoyed them for about a 9 months, driven by ALLNIC T1500 mk2 300B SET amp early 2019 I came across these ex demo Tannoy Heritage Ardens, so the VA's were traded in for them, the Ardens sounded lovely and produce great low end, but a bit impractical in a modern house, I should have learnt from the H2's really, by the way a small sofa normal was sat between them Just in remembered 2018/19 I had these from another friend which I sympathetically refurbished, JBL Century L100s about 1975 build, another great speaker and a good pair are well worth considering. Early 2020 having realise the error I my ways, I thought long and hard about what I had liked in various speakers and remember that I particularly like the Wilson Benesch Vectors that I heard when I auditioned the ARCs, although they were way out of my budget at the time. By pure luck I came across a pair on Ebay at a level I could possibly afford, after some communication it turned out the gentleman wanted my Ardens, so we came to a very amicable deal. The Vectors are a wonderful speaker IMO, they are a speaker that just disappears, producing a lovely soundstage, detailed and a natural/musical feel, I do find it difficult to describe this stuff. They do not go quite as low as the Ardens bu I have measure them and hold their own down to 30hz and then drop away, I can live with that as everything else is wonderfull to my ears. So if you can afford it and find a nice pre-loved pair then have a listen. These are hear to stay I think, at least for some years to come. By the way they are a little further forward now and the sofa does not seem to make any difference, or I can't hear it.

It's a rather information-free marketing video. That's an understatement! More info here www.hedd.audio/en/tower-mains/They do look interesting. I like their heddphones concept as well ; cute name and based on the heil air motion transformer driver. I'd love to hear them.
