I have an old Turkish Delight (wood) box I've been waiting to find a use for. Add a few binding posts and fill will iron fillings. Job done.
Mod: this is a product thread, please keep to the topic.

I have taken the plunge, and ordered an SGS-1. Fairy dust be darned. I'll take the objective/subjective opinions of those who are using them, and predict it to be way more likely to make a difference on my system than not.
Wondering where to connect it though.
Macbook Pro with Halide Bridge is through the wall, so not an option.
Have a SEG, Coherent Power Supply, and Perreaux R200i intergrated amp.

I'd go for the integrated amp, Brett. Start small and simple - clip one cable to a spare input ground. Give it a day to settle (first time takes a while). Come back to it and listen - sound different? Take it from there.

I was initially going to go for the RTZ it is a bit more expensive, is like lifting a few bricks and did an amazing job in my system when I had it plumbed in. After a visit to Martin, he put his Reclocker into the SG1s grounding box. This gave the sound a lot more depth and I heard a noticeable upgrade that was not subtle. Making vocals and violin a lot easier for me to listen too. I liked the direction it pushed Martin system. So I decided to go for the SG1s instead as it would take me a good few more months to save for the RTZ. It took a while for the system to settle in. I think this is mainly due to ground plane noise finding a different path to earth. It also took a while for me to work out how to get the best out of the unit in my system. I just have it connecting to the DAC via AES and COAX inputs on the Topping. It helps the Topping to have more depth and impact. Overall an effective upgrade that I am happy with as it gives me that greater sense of flow. I find with my system I have to turn off the DAC for a minute and disconnect the power lead and then plug back in. It a bit frustrating but if do not do this it is definitely a bit more grainy. I am not sure if this is my DAC or due to factory noise nearby. With the RTZ I could keep the system plugged in I am still using an active solution for ground plane noise on the Tinkerboard and also find it best I restart this unit to get the real depth I love. With those small caveats a good system upgrade

I bought all the secret ingredients to make one up some time ago but not got round to it yet.

I just looked at the advert for the SG1 signature and it did not read mumbo jumbo. However, thanks for the link, the large box probably does a good job at a very reasonable price.

There is a photo of the inside of the Ali Express box, which is more than many vendors show, and talk of a 'recipe', but no materials list.
However, it does look good value if it works as well as an SGS.

John, regarding your comments about turning off components, I don't find that I do need to but I reboot the Asus once a week out of habit. The SGS boxes do have a slow effect, though, and reach their peak performance several hours after being connected up.

It's hard to figure out why You are using passive grounding (Black Ravioli) on the Tinkerboard so perhaps that is helping It is hard to really know

I find if turning off it takes about 10 minutes to come on song I did try leaving on but it didn't work out for me. Just sounded more harsh

Whatever works really, John. I leave all my source equipment turned on and very rarely is it ever powered off unless I've had a brownout.
I do sometimes give the SGS boxes a shake and that seems to give the sound a little more pep.

I been told that the SG1 s does not use tourmaline stones or crystals and those that had the cheaper Chinese version prefer SG1 I have no experience myself

All I can say is that you can shake the SGS boxes and it sounds like sand inside. The BR boxes are solid and nothing moves inside.

The RTZ is solid too but like lifting lead

You can just lift the RTZ but shaking it would be difficult
