I have two cables. I'm using the spade-to-spade from SGS to DAC ground post. The banana-to-crocodile clip cable goes from SGS to preamp power supply. I'm still listening and may try a further change or two. Why power supply? What has power supply got to do with signal ground?

It's closest!
Seriously, it feeds ground to the preamp proper. If I can find a way to get it to reach, I'll try it on the preamp chassis.

The preamp chassis sounds like a good spot. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Nelson has already covered all the bases with respect to grounding, and your box of tricks has little or no effect.

It may well be, he is a legendary circuit designer. That said, providing a good signal ground is outside of the scope of a component itself so you never know.

The preamp chassis sounds like a good spot. Bingo, and so it proves to be. I shifted things around, put the box between the DAC and preamp and connected the Croc clip to a phono earth just next to the DAC input. The spade still goes to the DAC grounding post, together with the 'clean' ground from the ifi Purifier. This is the best sound yet from the SGS. Less obvious bass but very tight and extended. The presentation seems more relaxed, less of a sense of everything being thrown into the mix and more of everything just being there. Just as much detail as before, but sounding less busy. Even Jon Hopkins' Open Eye Signal sounds easier on the ear despite huge amounts going on. It just sounds musical and right. The opposite of hi-fi.

The SGS is staying as configured above: to DAC and preamp. It does the job above and beyond (my expectations were low) and brings me closer to the music. I can't say better that than, and for the price it's a no-brainer for a well sorted system.

Andrew from Signal ground solutions sent me a message that my SGS 1 is on it’s way to me now.

I have sat in on a couple of demos of these boxes. I enjoyed the choice of music - Ted Hawkins!

Andrew from Signal ground solutions sent me a message that my SGS 1 is on it’s way to me now. Good news. In communications he's a nice chap and the product is very reasonably priced compared with the competition.

Taking Mike's lead, I put two Black Ravioli Pads under my SGS. It seems to have improved air and spaciousness a little (After recovering from having been turned upside down, requiring another hour to settle).
Playing Alt-J's An Awesome Wave just now, it's an exceptional album both musically and in sound quality. The insight is remarkable and the glockenspiel's vividness fantastic.

Hi Martin,
No still waiting. It got lost on the way to me. Andrew are going to make new cables and send another SGS-1.
I did see the new SGS-1s on the website. I wonder how much improvement that gives.

Yes, I was talking to Andrew about the SGS-1s. Interesting.
Do let us know when you receive the SGS-1, I have no-one else to compare notes with!

His website doesn’t do him any favours lol.
Idk why people let themselves down like that - a potentially great products success hampered with a broken website.

Most people are not great website designers but try to do it themselves to save costs. It usually shows.

Martin, I will do my best to describe my experience when I have tested. English is not my native language, and that makes it hard sometimes to describe things like this.
Ordering from Andrew really is a gambling when there is no comparison with other brands like Entreq. In my case is money the issue when I can’t afford Entreq. And when I asked Andrew what to expect from his product he said: “Our standard sgs 1 easily compares to the silver tellus” and if that is true then it’s a real catch compared to Silver Tellus that costs much more.
I’m not the one to judge his words. But the Silver Tellus is 22 kg in weight.
I wish I had more understanding about the topic. A thought I have is if it’s in a tru balanced topology on the analog side is sufficient to ground only one channel. Is this current s and frequencies we want to get rid of is all around ex a preamp? Or would it be better to ground each channel in a separate box.
And would it be a problem to connect left on the preamp and right on the amplifier?
I hope you understand what I’m trying to say :-)

My findings so far are that connecting to the preamp has had the most impact, followed by my DAC. I have experimented carefully. The channel doesn't matter as you are only connecting to ground. Right now I have two cables connected to the DAC ground post and an unused preamp input ground. I don't think whether the component is single-ended or balanced matters.
You should try just one connection at first, see which is the most effective.
I am so impressed with the SGS-1 that I may go on and try the SGS-1s next.

Thanks for the clarification.
My goal is to get more boxes to get the best out of grounding. I don’t no the reason I believe so much in grounding. It just seems logical and a good feeling about it.
The reason I mentioned left and right is that some are recommendeing to ground the speaker post on each channel.
I have made a drawing of my system. Trying to post it here but cant find how.

Make sure your amplifier is not a bridged type (not very common). Otherwise, give it a try!

I’m using headphones. My headphone amp is connected directly from my dac. Got a message from Andrew. The box is on its way
