Not sure if this is the right forum, but I want the part for an amplifier Can anybody help me source 16 pin dil header plugs with gold plated TURNED pins (not stamped pins). The only ones I can find are parts.arrow.com/item/detail/mill-max/160-10-316-00-001000#zyzGand they are USA based. I need one, plus all the ones I will f*&^ up, so probably 2 dozen. No being sensible 5 off or 10 off please.

As for buggering them up, if you are removing previous IC sockets, snip each leg off, use a solder sucker and pull each one out with some heat. Then refill the hole with solder and suck it out for a clean hole.

Like those Phil, but not like those. I have those very ones (the "black ones" I have referred to in the Pip saga) If you look closely you will see the pins are stamped not turned - they are rectangular in section, and a poor fit (won't fit) in the nice round holes I have in the Pip sockets I need "the green ones" I think that link from the USA rings the bell. What I need is someone in the US who can order them and ship them too me here. Or a UK source. I can find tin ones which would probably be better than pressed pins www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D9216-01-Harwin-Header-Dil-Through-16Way-/360983227958?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item540c46ee36But green ones with gold plated turned pins would be perfect. Otherwise, I may have to change the sockets

I think I've got some single in line headers if you can cope with 2 separate rows. Let me check and get back, if I have them you can have them...........
Cheers, Alan

Oooh dear it's terrible what a bit o' plonk does to the memory §§§§§§§§§§§§§
Anyway I've looked and the SIL headers are gold plated but have square pins, you're welcome to some if they are any good for you.
Cheers, Alan

Thanks Alan, but I'll see if I can source round pins. If I have to go square pins, it means changing the sockets, and I might as well use dils But thanks for looking

If you look on eBay 390783546925 appears suitable. The pins appear to be turned. In packs of 5 for £5 + £1 postage. Gold plated. More commonly described as "8 Way Slotted 0.3" DIL Header".

Looking again at the photo, I'm not sure if the pins are turned. You could just use an ordinary DIL turned pin socket (gold plated). It would just mean soldering in the resistors would be a bit more tricky.
