One of my favourite Tomita lps that - they are stunningly recorded, the sound of the all analogue synth and production just epic.

This is rather pleasant, my free Download from Naxos this month...
Violin Concertos Nos. 11 and 12 - Pierre Rode. and it's one of Naxos' "World Premiere Recordings".
It's performed by Friedemann Eichhorn, and the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra under Nicolás Pasquet

I thought it was a good all-round performance, not notable for any great departure in interpretation. But then, that's fine when Respighi was such a good orchestrator anyway. The orchestra are very fine and the organ, while not reaching the power and depth of the Louis Lane/Atlanta SO recording, certainly hits some nice low pedals. It was very enjoyable without quite taking precedence over the Lane, which is a very fine performance indeed.  |

I usually listen to Solti or Muti in this work, but Wand is as usual very fine.
