Re; Nikolayeva - yes, DSCH wrote the P&Fs for her, and I think she is the best interpreter. That's why I linked to one her recordings.

I love Khatia B's Rach 2. Fast, yet supremely delicate and tender at the same time ...

Not hugely impressed by her Rach pc2, it's pretty good but I love her pc3.

Can Argerich ever be beaten in the PC3?

Can Argerich ever be beaten in the PC3? That's what I thought, so I played the Argerich and preferred Khatia B!

It is futile to resist KB.

Here's something I chanced across and am glad I did. It's a very nicely curated collection that was recorded across a number of spooky Halloween concerts!
What an excellent concept and I especially enjoyed the technicolour Tamara by Balakirev.

It is futile to resist KB. Haha! I manage to resist often enough. Very good Rachmaninov, sometimes great. But I listened to KB's playing of a movement from a Handel keyboard suite and that sounded like Rachmaninov as well!

Wow - I'll take a listen, then. Just a personal preference, I find Argerich a bit rushed and frenetic in some of her passagework. Just because she can play that fast doesn't mean she should!

Wow, what a surprise. Just released.
Leopold Stokowski conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Shostakovich 10th symphony. I had no idea he'd conducted this let alone recorded it.
Quite decent stereo. Listening now.

A new multi volume set of Stokowski recordings from Urania, released a couple of days ago.
Most aren't linked to Leopold Stokowski as an Artist on Spotify but are findable if 'Stokowski' is searched for.

Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No.3, Khatia B She plays with percussive beauty, reminding me strongly of Lupu. I can't give a higher recommendation. The finale is superb. open.qobuz.com/track/38491568
